Flooding brings about more damage than what meets the eye. Once a certain community has been flooded, and the waters have eventually subsided, clean-up happens. However, the moisture left by the flooding encourages mold growth which could remain undetected especially in areas in the home that are not frequented by the homeowners.

Texas-Based Media outfit KXAN featured for instance a community in San Marcos that needed to be evacuated from their homes following a flooding in their area.

“Some are refusing to leave, he added, because they do not think they have much damage. ‘Some of those folks who got very little water they said, ‘I’m OK,’ but no, water seeps under baseboards, it grows into sheet rock and instillation, and you’ll smell it,’ said Sierra.”
