Today.com says fires are more dangerous now than house fires three decades ago.

“Research shows that 30 years ago, you had about 17 minutes to escape a house fire. Today, you have only 3 or 4 minutes. TODAY national investigative correspondent Jeff Rossen conducts a dramatic demonstration that shows why, and how you should prepare.”

This 13-year old boy featured over at Better India.com, does not only know how to use a fire extinguisher, he even ventured into making a low cost version of it. Removing  molds

“Developed with the help of his science teacher, Karunai Das, the extinguisher has a heat sensor that detects a rise in temperature that could be caused due to friction. This triggers an alarm, which is connected to a water tank and a motor. A sprinkler that will douse the flames is activated without delay.”

These students from the United States meantime came out with a fire extinguisher that puts put a fire with the use of sounds as featured in Fox News. Mold 

“Two engineering students at George Mason University have created a potentially revolutionary fire extinguisher that uses sound to fight blazes. The brainchild of engineering seniors Viet Tran and Seth Robertson, the device uses low frequency sound waves to extinguish fires.”
