How mold growth threatens your family’s health

Molds affect the human health in a very drastic kind of way that it poses serious risk to a person’s respiratory system. And while people have been trained to have it removed once seen, some wait for it to grow exponentially before calling for cleaning it up or having it removed.

But what if the mold growth in your home cannot be easily spotted? How dangerous can it get?

Huffingtonpost.com says one of the most mold-infested household item is the coffee machine. It explains coffee machine provides the wet or damp environment where molds and bacteria love to grow.

“On average, home coffee reservoirs also had higher germ counts than both bathroom door handles and toilet seats,” it said. With this huffingtonpost.com came up with a guide on how to clean coffee machines free from molds.

But molds do not only silently attack coffee machines. Another alarming area it could lurk on are sleeping areas for newborns. In its website, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission published a product recall for an infant sleeper that exposes the sleeping baby to molds.

“Mold can develop between the removable seat cushion and the hard plastic frame of the sleeper when it remains wet/moist or is infrequently cleaned, posing a risk of exposure to mold to infants sleeping in the product. The CPSC advises that mold has been associated with respiratory illnesses and other infections,” the CPSC stated in this news release.

What is more alarming though is geoengineeringwatch.org’s article stating that a sizeable chunk of individuals in certain areas have been exposed to mold-infested air as the atmosphere now contains virally mutated molds. “You are now Breathing Ethylene Dibromide, Virally Mutated Molds, Nano-Particulates of Aluminum and Barium, and Polymer Fibers with Unidentified Bio-Active Material,” it said.

While most individuals have no control over the atmosphere being infested by molds, the best thing to do to protect homes and families is to do what it takes to extinguish molds once they become visible. Apart from that, it would of course be best if there will be no chances for molds to grow in homes by making sure that homeowners do not harbor areas that could stimulate the growth of molds like unassuming home fixtures that when damp, could pose as a breeding ground of this organism.
