How to remove molds from your carpet

Molds in the carpet can be really nasty especially when there are children crawling about, and pets in the home.

But there are several ways to final get rid of carpet mold that has been osing danger to the whole household.

Wikihow shared three ways. “Carpet mold can produce unpleasant odors, degrade your carpet, and cause wheezing in asthma sufferers. Check underneath furniture regularly, in order to catch mold at the surface of the carpet. If the mold has reached the carpet’s backing, it will be significantly harder to treat, but there are still several remedies to try.”

Protect Yourself

Jabro Carpet One is strongly recommending homeowners to wear protective masks while trying to check for molds in the carpets and while getting rid of it.

“Mold is also usually accompanied by a musty smell. Both can activate allergies so if your family is suddenly allergic to the house, you may have a mold/mildew problem. Mold will eat away at organic surfaces so any area of flooring that has become particularly weak could be infested with the fungi and you’ll want to get it removed ASAP.”

NACHI meantime says that when the molds in the carpet flooring are quite widespread and severe, then it is time to call in the experts, and totally replace the affected carpet.

“In many cases, if mold has grown on carpet, cleaning will not be possible.  If growth has occurred on more than one area of the carpet, or if there is a large area of growth, the carpet will probably need to be replaced. “
